Alert the media, there's finally a Girl in the Smith family!!!! Yesterday we finally made a decision on a new puppy! We spent alot of time meeting new dogs at local pit bull rescues and we finally decided on a 10-12 week old little girl named Gracie! She is very sweet and cuddly and SUPER smart. In the 1st 24 hours we've had her she hasn't had a single accident in the house and she has learned sit, lay down, speak, and roll over!!!! She also went on a shopping spree because I was excited to buy some pink stuff and also got a pink pawdicure! She is really healing our hearts! Welcome Gracie!
Grandma Martin wanted to enjoy the beach with Blake too so we packed up and drove down to Hilton Head. It was a very nice trip and we stayed at a really nice resort right on the beach. Blake was in heaven with the kiddie pool AND the beach! He loves to vacation!
We took Blake to the beach shortly after RoRo died, we wanted to get away for a while and it was very relaxing! We stopped off to North Augusta on the way to visit Jamie's side of the family. Blake is so spoiled by them! He got his very own John Deere Gator to drive when he's at Mimi and G-diddys! He loved that! He also loved playing in their pool with the remote control boat they got him! From there we went to Charleston and stayed with Jamie's best friend from High School, Jay and his wife Catie. Blake really loved playing with their doggie, Daisy (or Daze as he calls her)! He also LOVED the beach! He has no fear of the water whatsoever!!!! We also took him to a water park in Charleston for kids and he is a pro at the big water slides, he does it all by himself! He's a fish just like his dad! It was a great trip and thanks to Mimi and G-Diddy and Jay and Catie for letting us crash their places!
I've taken a while to blog this one because it is just too painful to do. On May 27 our dear dear beloved dog Romeo passed away. Romeo became sick with what seemed like a stomach virus two weeks prior and underwent many medical tests and procedures that never could pinpoint what was wrong. He was unable to eat for those two weeks so his doctors decided to do a exploratory surgery. In that surgery they still found nothing and sent him home that evening and about 15 minuites after we brought him home he died in my arms. It was by far the worst day of our lives. We will never ever forget Ro. He was the BEST dog in the world and can never be replaced. He represented his breed better than any other dog ever could have. He was so caring, and loving and full of energy. He took to his role as Blakes big brother better than anyone would have expected. We were lucky to have had him in our lives for the eight and a half short years that we did and we will cherish the memories of him forever. Here are some of the last pictures we had done of him, we took him along for Blake's 2nd Birthday photos just 14 days before he passed away and we're so glad we have these pictures to show Blake one day.
